Margaret B. Stein, 83, of Tarrytown, NY, passed away on February 18th, 2017. Margaret was a long time resident of Irvington for 33 years prior to moving to Tarrytown. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her many friends. Margaret was a long-time member of Irvington Presbyterian Church, where she was a highly involved and beloved member of the church community. She had a fascination for family history and genealogy, and was a member of the Hudson River Patriots Chapter and the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Additionally, she was a member of the Irvington Historical Society and the Tarrytown Seniors. Margaret spent her career working for The Bank of New York and County Trust bank of Westchester. After retiring, she worked locally as an administrator in a dentists' office. True to form, Margaret made strong connections where ever she went, and made close friends through all of her professional and recreational activities. A strong and enduring spirit, Margaret worked hard to make sure her family was always taken care of. She was a loving mother and grandmother, generous with hugs and eternally giving. Margaret was predeceased by her son, Gary Stein. She is survived by her son, Robert Stein, her granddaughter, Pamela Lynde and Pamela's husband Michael, and her cousin Carolyn Long. Visiting will take place on Saturday, February 25th, from 10 am to 11 am, followed by a brief service at 11 am, at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry.
