Marion J. D'Ambrosio

Marion J. D'Ambrosio, 86, a longtime resident of Irvington, NY, passed away on February 9, 2018 surrounded by her family, enveloped in their love. She was born on February 2, 1932 to the late Josephine and Michael Henchar. A 1950 graduate of Christopher Columbus High School in the Bronx, Marion went on to earn a business degree from State Tech College in Brooklyn. After college, she worked as a legal secretary for a number of years. Marion is survived by her loving husband of 64 years John P. D'Ambrosio. They would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on May 1st of this year. Also surviving are her children, Susan Eddy, Laura Hagerty, James D'Ambrosio (Janet Fortunato), Carol Smith (Daniel), Marion Andolina (Gary), Nicole Egloff (James), along with many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her sister Patricia Henchar. Marion was predeceased by her sister Roberta Henchar and sister-in-law Rose D'Ambrosio. Marion shared her time between Marco Island, FL and Irvington, NY for many years. Her favorite pastimes were cooking, reading and socializing with her closest friends. Marion enjoyed watching classic old movies and Jeopardy. A woman of sustaining faith, Marion belonged to a Bible Study Group for years and was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Irvington, NY. She loved the parish and enjoyed volunteering in the ICS school library during the years her children attended school there. Marion was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Family was the ultimate joy in her life and she will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Our angel here on earth, Marion will continue to watch over us forever as our angel in heaven.
