Marguerite Rossi

Marguerite "Margie" Rossi of Irvington died on September 8 after a long illness. She was 88. Born in Dobbs Ferry, NY, and raised in Irvington, she attended the Irvington Public Schools. In 1949, she married John Rossi, also of Irvington, and moved to Yonkers, NY, until returning to her native Irvington in 1971. A consummate academic, she was a graduate of Mercy College where she earned both an associate and bachelor's degree, magna cum laude. She is predeceased by her husband, John, and parents Concetta and Salvatore Perez. Margie is survived by her sister Yolanda Arena and niece Lydia Gray Thomas, of Irvington and nephew, Joseph Arena Bess of Danbury, CT as well as grand niece Lauren Gray and grand nephew Andrew Gray. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to the Development Office, Mercy College, 555 Broadway, Dobbs Ferry, NY 10522. Visiting will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry. Mass of the Resurrection will be on Monday 10AM at the Immaculate Conception Church in Irvington, NY. www.EdwardsandDowdle.com
