Helen Patten Williamson

Helen Patten Williamson, 86, formerly of Dewitt, NY and Greenfield Township, PA, passed away August 28th surrounded by her loving family. Born in Carbondale, PA, Helen was the daughter of the late Morgan and Elizabeth Reynolds Patten. She attended Benjamin Franklin High School and was a graduate of the Northfield Mount Herman School, MA and attended Cedar Crest College, Allentown, PA. Helen was the loving wife of 60 years to Dean Williamson who passed in December 2014. She was a devoted "best mom and grandma ever" to daughter, Beth Ann Meredith and husband Timothy, Hopatcong, NJ; grandchildren, Dean Albert, Stafford, VA and Kate Elizabeth, Midvale, UT; and son, Dean Richard Williamson and wife Susan; grandchildren, Melody Grace and Gabriel Dean, Leesburg, VA. Helen was a long time member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Syracuse, NY, where she taught Sunday School for 40 years. She was a poet, author and long time animal rights advocate.
