Lucy Aversano
Lucy Aversano, 96, of the Bronx passed away on August 22, 2016. She was born in Ponza, Italy on April 1, 1920. She is the daughter of the late Aniello and Stella Tagliamonte. In 1929 at the age of 9, she migrated to the United States. Lucy married her beloved John Aversano on November 24, 1940 at Our Lady of Pity Church in the Bronx. She worked as seamstress and became the Chairlady for the ILGWU. She upheld her position for many years. Lucy was also a devoted Catholic and was a board member of the San Silverio Shrine. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and will be deeply missed. Lucy is survived by her daughters Joanne Philip DeLuca and Diana Jack Romano, grandchildren Vincent Deanna, John Linda-Marie, Ciro Alisa and Jacqueline Robert, great grandchildren Gabriella, Philip Joseph, Giuliana, Christopher, Jonathan, David and Rylie Lucia and great great grandchild Audrianna. Lucy is also survived by her brother Silvio. Mass of the Resurrection Friday 10am Church of St, Matthew, R.C., Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.
