William F. Kohl

William F. "Bill" Kohl William F. "Bill" Kohl, 73, of Naples, Florida, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2005. He moved to Naples from Dobbs Ferry, NY in 1990, but continued to spend his summers in East Marion, NY. Bill Sonny graduated from Hastings-on-Hudson High School, Trinity School, and Kansas State University. Following graduation, he served in the US Army. In 1989, after 32 years as a dedicated teacher and coach, Bill retired from the Dobbs Ferry School District. Bill spent the majority of his life involved in athletics as both a player, and a coach. In Naples he was a member of the Countryside Golf & C.C. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Cynthia, and two children, Linda Daniel Martin and Garry Denise Kohl. Also surviving is his sister, Pearl Biazzo, his three grandchildren, Ryan, Blake and Madison Kohl, his niece, Lori Liberti and his nephew, John Biazzo. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mina Kohl and his uncle, Henry Dutch Kohl. The family will receive friends at the Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, Thursday June 2 from 6:00-8:00pm A prayer will be offered at 7:30pm. Private burial with military honors will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Donations can be made in Bill's memory to Hastings-on-Hudson High School Alumni Association, Inc., c/o Paul Perreten, Treasurer, 139 Southside Avenue, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 10706.
