Edward Francis Parzyk, 97, of Dobbs Ferry, New York, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2020 at home in the company of family and friends. Edward is survived by his daughter; Joann (Robert) Nedwick; his grandchildren, Edward (Sara) Nedwick, Michelle (Jason) Hudson and Stephanie Nedwick; and his two great grandchildren Emily Hudson and Tatum Nedwick. Edward was predeceased by his son Edward John Parzyk, and his wife of 59 years, Emily Szemraj Parzyk. Edward was a WWII veteran who served with 34 Division, 168 Infantry from December 1942-November 1945. Edward received the Distinguished Unit Badge Combat Infantry and the European Theater Ribbon with four battle stars. Edward was employed by JP Stevens and Company, Inc. and retired as Vice President of Private Ticket Terry Products Division in 1984. Edward was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as Secretary, Treasurer, and Trustee of the Cardinal Hayes Council in Yonkers, NY. Edward was an avid NY Jets fan and had many interests, including poker and golf. However, his greatest love was spending time with family, especially his great grandchildren. He was known for his witty humor, infectious smile, and kind and compassionate spirit. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private burial service will be held for family followed by a memorial mass conducted at a future date. Details are pending.
