John F. Broccoli

Broccoli, Jr. , John Junie 74, a life long Dobbs Ferry resident died January 18, 2005. John was born in Dobbs Ferry on September 18, 1930 the son of John and Grace Cristello Broccoli. John attended Dobbs Ferry schools and later joined the United States Air Force. He served in Korea. After the war he returned to Dobbs Ferry and worked as an Operating Engineer for local 137 in Briar Cliff Manor, retiring in 1995. John was an avid New York Yankee fan and had an affinity for gardening. He had a reputation for growing trophy quality tomatoes. John was a member of the Dobbs Ferry Fire Department Livingston Hose Company for over 50 years. He was a founding member of the Top Hatters Athletic Club, a founding member and past president of the Pop Warner Football Club. John is survived by his long time companion Kathy Frees, sons; John and his wife Nancy, Richard and his wife Lori, daughter Debbie Vulpone, brothers Dominick, Jerry and Peter along with 8 grandchildren. Mass of the Resurrection Thursday 9:30AM Church of the Sacred Heart. Visiting Wednesday today 2-4 & 7-9PM Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home.
