Joann Melson Terry Carter was born on March 14, 1949, in Talbotton, Georgia to the late Bertha and Ab Melson. She was the fifth child and the baby of their beautiful family. Affectionally known as Mama Jo. She was always happy, and loved spending time with her siblings, throughout her life. Joann was proceeded in death by three brothers Willie Melson, Charles Melson and Lester Melson. One sister Bonnie Green. Not to mention a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and relatives and friends that will miss her dearly. She leaves to cherish her memories two loving sons that she cherished with all of her heart: Todd Terry of Ellenwood, GA.; Dexter (Tiffany) Terry of Fayetteville, GA.; four grandchildren: Jamaica Terry, Antonio “Tony” Terry, Alayda Terry and Aspen Terry.
