Juanita "Shirley" Ehlenburg Obituary

Shirley passed away the evening of July 30th, just the way she said she always wanted, at home, surrounded by her family.

Shirley was born in 1929 in the small town of Absarokee to Fred and Gladys Riddle. She was the second of three kids. Shirley loved growing up in a small town.

Shirley was working as a server in the Green Derby Cafe. One day, a tall lineman walked in for lunch. She didn’t know it, but that was a day that would change her life. That was the day and the place that Shirley met the love of her life, Wayne Ehlenburg. They were married, moved to Billings and started a lifetime of adventures that included three children: Linda, Steve and Debbie. Shirley’s life was full of adventures: raising a family, working as a medical secretary, becoming a snowbird to Arizona in retirement for a few years, spending time with friends and family, moving to The Crossings and making new friends. Shirley was always a social butterfly and talking to everyone.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Gladys; and siblings, Chuck and Eileen; son-in-law Steve (Linda) French; and ever-loving husband Wayne.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Linda French and Debbie (Rob) Bryson; son Steve (Linda) Ehlenburg; grandchildren Jaime (Andrew) Martian, Jennie Hallett, Erica (Justin) Watson, Kelly (Tanner) Watson, Chalis Bremkamp, and Clinton Ehlenburg; and great-grandchildren, Carter, Alex, Avery, Raelee, Danielle, Addison, Kadin and Macie.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at The Crossings for providing unwavering support in Shirley’s final hours. Shirley always spoke of you as family and we can’t thank you enough for all the help and support that you have given us all.

We will be holding a private service for family only. The family would like to thank you for your kind expression of sympathy, support, and concern on our recent loss.
