Q V Chapman Jr. Obituary

Q. V. Chapman Jr. was born Oct 28, 1949 to the union of the late Q. V. Chapman Sr. and Willie Rocker. He confessed to Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church.

Attending Harper High School from first through the twelfth grade, Q. V. would continue on and join the Army. After leaving the Army, he settled in Fayetteville, N.C., where he married Sandra Atkins. The couple would later relocate to Monroe, Mich., where he was employed as an equipment operator for Detroit Edison of Monroe. He became medically unable to continue employment and later returned back to Jackson, where he reunited with Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church under the Rev. Lang’s leadership. He remained a faithful member until his death. He served on the Senior Usher Board and was very happy to do anything asked of him. On July 29, 2022 he quietly crossed over from life to a life of eternal rest.

He was preceded in death by his father, Q. V. Chapman Sr., and his mother Willie Rocker.

He leaves to cherish his memories daughters, Danielle Lewis of Fayetteville, N.C., and Kayla Chapman of Rockwood, Mich.; son, Quincy (Julie) Chapman of Monroe, Mich.; two devoted stepdaughters, Kimberly and Tonya Atkins, both of Monroe, Mich.; three devoted brothers, James L. Law of Colorado Springs, Colo., Ray (Cleo) Warren and Timothy (Lonette) Chapman, both of Jackson; one devoted and faithful sister, Rosie (Eugene) Haynes of Jackson; one devoted auntie who he called his mother, Retha Bettis of Jackson; devoted nephew, the Rev.
