Thelma Jean Green, 85 of Chesterfield Township (formerly of Lapeer), died Monday, August 1, 2022. Thelma was born July 11, 1937, in Detroit to Arthur John and Beatrice Thelma (Brill) Thomas. Thelma married James Joseph Green on September 12, 1959, in Detroit. Thelma loved bowling with her sisters, crocheting and her daily Detroit News crosswords. She was a voracious reader and particularly enjoyed James Patterson, John Grisham and Stephen King novels. Above all, Thelma enjoyed raising her children and time spent with her family. Thelma is survived by her children: Peggy (Joseph) Pokornicki of New Haven, Sally Chadoba of Chesterfield Township and Robert "Bob" Green of Chesterfield Township; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, James Douglas Green, husband, James Joseph Green and her aforementioned parents. Thelma's family held a private memorial service. In keeping with Thelma's wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Condolences may be left at www.MuirBrothersLapeer.com
