Dorothy A. Stadler, 91, of Bridgeton died peacefully on Thursday evening, July 28, 2022 at Tenacre foundation in Princeton, NJ, where she has been a resident for two and a half years. The widow of Edward A. Stadler, they had been married nearly 58 years. Dorothy was born in Bridgeton, NJ on October 24, 1930, and graduated from Bridgeton High School. As an adult she earned her Christian Science nursing degree from Tenacre nursing school in 1977. Dorothy and Ed moved to New Castle County, Delaware when they were first married in 1955 and then to Milford, Delaware in 1965, where they lived for twenty years. She and Ed moved back to Bridgeton in 1992 when they retired.<br><br>Dorothy was an avid volunteer and loved helping people. She started the first integrated girl scout troop in the late 1960’s in Milford. She was a founding member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Milford Delaware and was also active in the Christian Science church in Woodstown, NJ. In Bridgeton she was an officer in the Dallas Lore Nature Club, and a member of The Bridgeton Chapter of the AARP and Second Fifties. She loved singing and seemed to remember the words to any song she heard. She sang in various choirs throughout her life including singing in the Cantata at the West Park United Methodist Church in Bridgeton – even though she wasn’t a member. Her memory of incidents long past was legendary. She loved reading, hiking, camping, gardening, and birding. Her greatest joy was vacationing with her family and extended family. Even more, she loved her daughters, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.<br><br> Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Parsons (Thomas) of Coopersburg, PA and her grandchildren Joyce, Ted and Alex Parsons and her great Grandson, Miles. Also her granddaughter Cindy Ireland and her children, Morgan and Jerin , and much loved nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Dorothy was predeceased by her daughter Pat, and her four brothers, Arthur, Wilbur, Kenny, and Sonny Schultz. There will be a graveside service at Cumberland County Veterans cemetery on October 8 at 11 am and a lunch afterwards where friends and family can gather to remember Dorothy and celebrate her life.
