She was 85 years, 5 months, and 23 days of age. Ruby lost her mother at the age of seven. She graduated from the eighth grade at Rural School 85. Ruby spent her childhood traveling with her dad for work or helping her older sisters by caring for her nieces and nephews. Ruby met and later married the love of her life, Wayne Hopper. Together they worked many years at Tobin Hamilton Shoe Factory. When Wayne left the shoe factory for construction work, Ruby decided to stay home. In their spare time, Ruby and Wayne enjoyed square dancing, hunting mushrooms, and spending time with friends and family. One of her greatest enjoyments in life was being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was affectionately known as Pa Granny by her grandchildren. Besides her parents and siblings, Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved, Wayne Hopper, and by a granddaughter, Alicia Davis. Ruby is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Shelton and her husband, Kenny, of Snyder, Texas, her son, Terry Hopper and his wife, Regina, of Norwood, Missouri, five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, two sisters-in-law, Brenda Todd and Linda Coonts, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus and Heart of the Ozarks for their care of Ruby.
