Cindy Quirk

Cindy M. Quirk, 82, passed away Friday evening, July 29, 2022 at St. Vincent Heart Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on March 4, 1940 in White Lake, Wisconsin. She is the daughter of Ernest and Irene Buckner and attended Dunkirk High School. On July 9, 1966 in Chicago, Illinois, she married Michael J. Quirk. Cindy enjoyed crafting, cooking, playing cards, and traveling. She loved spending time with family and friends. Surviving are her three children, Cheryl Latham (husband, Dan) of Portland, OR, Terry Williams (wife, Felicia) of Washougal, WA, and Scott Quirk (wife, Wendy) of Muncie; four stepchildren, Joellen Litwin of Muncie, Steve Quirk (wife, Cindy) of Anderson, Pat Quirk (wife, Marilou) of Muncie, and Michelle LeClaire of Providence, RI; and sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by brothers Jim Buckner (wife, Rita) and Lyle Buckner (wife, Mary). She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, Michael J. Quirk on May 21, 2020; one daughter-in-law, Missy Quirk in 2014; four brothers, Ernie, Kyle, Paul, and Rick; and two sisters, Faye and Mary Jean. An open house celebration of life will take place on Saturday, August 27th, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Elks Lodge in Dunkirk. Friends and family are welcome to join us in this celebration. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Cowan Community School Corporation for the “Coach Ingles Memorial Scholarship” 9401 South Nottingham Street, Muncie, IN 47302.
