James Frasier, Jr. Muncie, Indiana Obituary

Jim

James Frasier, Jr., 73, passed away July 25, 2022 at his residence. James was born March 17, 1949, in Muncie, the son of James, Sr. and Jane (Jackson) Frasier. He graduated from Daleville High School in 1967 and attended Ball State University. Mr. Frasier was employed with Indiana Gas for forty years, prior to his retirement in 2010. Jim was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church where he was involved with Boy Scouts with his sons. Jim lived by the phrase “family first” and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was happily married to Gloria for 52 years. He loved to travel and boat with his family when the kids were young, and every summer included a trip to Dale Hollow Lake. There were several camping trips out west and through Canada where he was able to make it to most of the states in the U.S. and several Canadian provinces, always taking the scenic route. His love of travel also took him to Europe, Australia, Vanuatu, and New Zealand. He was the biggest fan of his kids and grandkids as he spent countless hours rooting them on at football games, basketball games, and track meets. After his retirement, he loved spending the winter months in Florida doing the daily crossword puzzle and enjoying the pool and sunshine with his wife, Gloria. Jim was always quick to lend his expert advice and a helping hand toward any of his kids’ projects whether it be home, auto, or boat repair projects. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Frasier; six sons, Lance (Wendy) Garvin, Benjamin (Julie) Garvin, Jeremiah (Susan) Frasier, Tyler (Pamela) Frasier, Troy (Alisha Brooks) Frasier, and Nicholas (Lauren) Frasier; grandchildren, Ella, Jack, Lucy, Simon, Lennon, Luke, Avery, Colin, and Graham; two brothers, Jerry (Mary) Frasier, and Rodney (Kim) Frasier; two sisters, Karen (Tom) Hartshorn, and Sharon (Chris) Werner; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Frasier was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Mindy Frasier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 6, 2022 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 820 E. Charles Street, Muncie. Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery. Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary, Washington Street Chapel, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, August 5, 2022. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.
