PLYMOUTH-Valerie Jean Butler, 62, died peacefully on Friday, July 29, 2022, with her loving husband by her side at her home in Plymouth. Val was born on April 23, 1960, in Lincoln, Maine, the daughter of Miles Thompson and Tessie Gordon. She was a hard worker and had been employed for many years at Vic Firth, C.M. Almy, SAS Shoe, and Richies Pizza. She was content to be at home watching her favorite game and cooking shows. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and loved to be with her family. She is survived by her husband, Philip Butler; her daughter, Tanya Thompson and fiancé Derek Anderson; son, Eric Berube and wife, Samantha; two stepdaughters, Dayna Raven and husband Brandon and Taylor Dube and husband Shawn; seven grandchildren: Drew, Isaac, Madilyn, Kennedy, Austyn, Oaklyn, and Theodore “Teddy”; her uncle and aunt, Harold and Joyce Gordon; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents. Phil wishes to thank the Northern Light Hospice Team, Northern Light Cancer Center in Brewer; his boss, Bob Ballard, along with his co-workers at Sonoco; and his sister, Rhonda, for all the support and care that they gave to him and Valerie. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, August 5, 2022, at the Sawyers Cemetery, Route 7, in Plymouth.
