Charles Francis Greene, Jr., 80, passed away the afternoon of July 30, 2022 at his residence in Shenango Township.

Born on October 29, 1941 in New Castle, Charles was the son of the late Charles F., Sr. and Helen Bauman Greene.

Surviving at home is his loving wife of over forty-eight years, the former Mary Lou Marapese, whom he married in 1974.

Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Charles was a retired correction officer having worked for over seventeen years at the Western Penitentiary in Pittsburgh.

In his earlier years, he worked for Shenango China and Mayer China. He enjoyed reading and biking. Charles also enjoyed listening to music and playing his records. Above all, he cherished the times he spent with his family and will be sadly missed.

In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his children, Leslie Greene-Hobel (Eric), Steven Greene, Megan Augustine (Frank), his stepchildren, Tammi Rishel (Dave) and Lisa Alessio (David); his brother, John Greene, his sister, Elaine Armstrong (Gary); his grandchildren, Michael & Andrew Russick, Nicole Miller, Alyssa Serignese, Billy and Jordyn Trott, Sydney Hobel, Joey and Vinny Augustine and six great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, step-son, William Trott, Jr and his step grandson, Matthew Russick.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St followed by a Blessing Service at 7:00p.m. conducted by Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish.

The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military rites at the funeral home.

Burial will take place in Parkside Cemetery.
