James "Jim" H. DeWeese, Jr.

<p><strong><span style="font-size:28px;">James “Jim” H. DeWeese, Jr., age 86 of Dayton, OH formerly of Troy passed away on July 29, 2022 at Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, OH. He was born on April 5, 1936 in Piqua, OH to the late James and Lucille (Frigge) DeWeese.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:28px;">In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his first wife Nancy Jane (Didot) DeWeese and daughter, Lori Ann DeWeese.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:28px;">Those left to cherish Jim’s memory include his loving wife, Patricia DeWeese of Dayton, OH; step-mother, Shirley DeWeese of Piqua, OH; daughter, Deborah Morgan (Gary) of Troy and children, Chad Palsgrove (Amy), Amy Morgan Buskirk (Lorne), and Jennifer Line (Brenten); son, James DeWeese III (Agnes) of Folsom, CA and children, Josh DeWeese (Erin), Toni DeWeese (Tom), and Kailey DeWeese; step-daughters, Sarah Barrett (Chip) of Indian Hill, OH and their children, Lucia and Milana Barrett, Maery DeWeese (Brian) of Seattle, WA and their children, Isabella, Oliver and Lalita DeWeese, and Trish Demeter (Matthew) of Westerville, OH and their child Desmond Demeter;&nbsp;11 great-grandchildren;&nbsp;brother,&nbsp;David DeWeese (Jeannie) from Amelia OH; and sister, Denise Klosterman (Rick) from Piqua OH.&nbsp;</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:28px;">Jim graduated from Piqua High School in 1954 and Purdue University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1958. He was in the Army ROTC while attending Purdue University and went on to serve and retire from the United States Army as Captain. Jim was a civil employee at the WPAFB Research Labs for 34 years and was the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force Wright Aeronautical Labs at the time of his retirement.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:28px;">&nbsp;He was also involved in activities that provided residential living opportunities for the developmentally disabled. He served on both Miami County Residential Living and Champaign Residential Services Boards of Directors. He was involved in numerous community activities, two of his favorites being Troy Little League Football and serving as Commissioner as well as referee. Jim loved his dogs, all sports, playing cards, and traveling. &nbsp;</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:28px;">A graveside service will be held at 11AM on Monday, August 8, 2022 at Riverside Cemetery, Troy with Deacon John Carlin officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy, OH.&nbsp;</span></strong></p>

James “Jim” H. DeWeese, Jr., age 86 of Dayton, OH formerly of Troy passed away on July 29, 2022 at Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, OH. He was born on April 5, 1936 in Piqua, OH to the late James and Lucille (Frigge) DeWeese.
