Edward Lynn Chatman Obituary

Edward Lynn “Andy” Chatman, 75, of Wake Forest, passed away on July 28, 2022. He was born in Wake County on May 14, 1947, to the late Junious B and Madeline Alice Privette Chatman. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Alice Fay and a brother, Mack “Rabbit” Chatman.


Andy is survived by his wife, Patricia Daniel Chatman; children, Kelvin Roberts (Angie), Michael Myers and Loretta Rigsbee; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great great-grandson. Also surviving are his brothers, John Chatman (Frances) and Charlie Chatman (Joanie).


Andy served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was a good-natured person, willing to give the shirt off his back. He was a hard worker and was mechanically inclined and able to fix about anything. Andy was a simple country man who loved the real country music by Johnny Cash and George Jones.


The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30pm on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Lancaster’s Franklinton Chapel, 504 E. Mason St. Franklinton, NC 27525. A graveside service will be held 11:00am on Wednesday August 3, 2022 at Markham Memorial Gardens, in Chapel Hill.
