Mary Germaine Claire Samson

<p>SAMSON, Claire, 98, from Little Anse, passed away peacefully on July 29th, 2022, in her residence at the St. Anne Community &amp; Nursing Care Centre in Arichat. Born in Poulamon, Claire was a daughter of the late Charles Newman and Elizabeth (LeBlanc) Pertus. Claire is survived by her children, Edna Samson (Amédée) and Paula Marchand (Kelly), as well as her grandchildren, Stephanie, Christopher, Gracen and Zachary. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Adelard, and all of her siblings: Clothilde, Lillian, Helen, Edna, Clement, Alphonse, Theodore, and Armand. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4th, at C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat from 6 - 8 pm. Christian mass will be held on Friday, August 5th, at St. Joseph’s Church in Petit-de-Grat at 11 am with Rev. John Baptiste officiating. Burial to follow in the Star of the Sea Cemetery in Petit-de-Grat. Claire was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Women's League in Petit-de-Grat for over 60 years and, following the service, a reception will be held at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall in Petit-de-Grat. The wearing of masks will be mandatory for attending the visitation, funeral, and reception.
