Larry Smith

MUNCIE- Larry Smith, 81, passed away early Friday morning, July 29, 2022 at Signature Healthcare. Larry was born January 26, 1941 in Muncie and was the son of the late Brady Edward Smith and Alma P. (Choate) Smith Larry proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Airforce. He had been employed with Marsh Warehouse, Skyline, The Patio Bar and Muncie Food Handlers. Larry had owned several ice cream trucks and a flea market in Muncie. He was a member of the American Legion and Eagles Lodge. Larry is survived by his two sons Doug Smith (Ronan) and Scot Smith (Donna); three grandchildren NaTasha, Miranda and Nathaniel Smith; three brothers Shirley Smith (Phyllis), Bobby Smith and Jerry Smith (Carolyn Daugherty); one sister Lois J. Smith (Bell-Church); several nieces and nephews also survive. Larry is preceded in death by his parents Brady Edward Smith and Alma P. (Choate) Smith; three brothers Sheldon, Shellie and Billy Smith; two sisters Emma Lee Smith Wright and Wanda Smith Hines. Funeral Services for Larry will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastor Denny Helton officiating. Burial with military honors being conducted by the United States Air Force and The Delaware County Honor Guard, will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
