Albert Roy Hooke, Jr.

Albert Roy Hooke, Jr., 74, of Carlisle, formerly of Hummelstown, passed away on July 27, 2022 in the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Services Home. He was born July 24, 1948, in Sewickley, PA, son of the late Julia (Patricelli) and Albert Hooke, Sr. Albert received his Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh and was a former Director at the Herbert Schaffner Juvenile Detention Center. He was also a Sergeant in the U.S. Marines and fought in the Vietnam War. Albert was a music enthusiast and proud of his expansive collection of records, which he showed to anyone who entered his home. Albert is survived by his wife, Karen F. (Pollock) Hooke; sons, Gregory Blake Moreland and Steven (Dana) Moreland; and daughter, Sydney Dengler; and three beautiful grandchildren. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 10AM at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville. Those wanting to attend should arrive at the cemetery by 9:45 and follow signs for "funeral", parking behind the Administration Building. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to Operation Second Chance or the PA Alzheimer’s Association.
