KATHREN L. YOUNG
<p>Kathren L. Young, 20, of Piqua, passed away at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Hospice of Miami County after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma. She was born November 19, 2001 in Troy to Stacie Young of Piqua. She married James Horne November 28, 2021 and he survives.</p> <p>Other survivors include her stepfather who raised her as his own, Bryan Sowers; a brother, Justice Young of Nashville, Tennessee; and two sisters, Heather (Dwayne) Tory of Trotwood and Kimberly Sowers of Piqua. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by one sister, Tiffany Sowers.</p> <p>Kathy was a 2020 graduate of Piqua High School, where she excelled as a three sport athlete where she was active with volleyball, basketball and softball. She attended Bowling Green State University. During her high school years, she worked at the Piqua Dairy Queen. She was a member of The Valley Church in Piqua. Additionally, she was a gifted writer and enjoyed immersing herself in her writing. She was a lover of animals, especially her special canine companions, Cinnamon, Dixie, and Remi. She enjoyed shopping and spending her time with her “Gal Pals”. She will be deeply missed by her loving family.</p> <p>A celebration of Kathy's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022 at The Valley Church in Piqua. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. also on Saturday, at The Valley Church. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
