Brenda Joyce Stewart Princeton, Indiana Obituary

Brenda Joyce Stewart

Brenda Joyce Stewart, 80, passed away with her family by her side at her home in Greenwood, Indiana on July 27th, 2022. She was born in Princeton, Indiana on November 1, 1941 to the late Ralph and Margaret Gilmore. Shortly after high school Brenda attended Westside Beauty School and lived in an apartment with several of her friends. One snowy weekend she came home and went to a Princeton basketball game. Afterwards while at a restaurant she was introduced to Jerry Stewart and he offered to drive her home and it was history from there. They married on July 7th, 1962. A few weeks ago, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

On August 28, 1964 they welcomed their first daughter, Sherri Jo, into the world. After Jerry graduated from University of Evansville they moved to Greenwood. Bradley Alan was born on July 22, 1968 and shortly after they moved to Columbus, Indiana, where they lived for almost 32 years, Kristi Dawn was born on November 8, 1977, which completed their family. Brenda’s passion was taking care of her family and documenting it through pictures. She loved traveling to watch her children play sports and was their loudest cheerleader.

Her favorite role in life was being a grandmother and she spoiled her grandchildren all of the time. Jacob Scott (22), Jackson Dylan (18), Mia Evelyn (14), and Madison Ruth (10) are her precious grandchildren.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Jerry Stewart; daughter, Sherri Gilcrest; son, Bradley Stewart; daughter, Kristi Mann (Anthony); four grandchildren; sister, Elaine Miller; brother-in-law, Joe Stewart; sister-in-law, Linda Stewart; several nieces, and a nephew.

There will be a private service for family at the graveside at a later date in Princeton, Indiana. Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with arrangements. Brenda wanted everyone to remember her as they last saw her or spoke to her. For her family and friends that survive her there will be an everlasting void. We will miss her dearly.

Condolences may be offered at www.colvinfuneralhome.com. Colvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Stewart family.
