Willard George Bean, 62 of Topeka, KS passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at his home. He was born on August 31, 1959, to Lewis and Wanda Bean in Fairfield, CA. He was preceded in death by both parents, his sister Marilyn Bean, IL, his brother David Bean, KS, and god-sister Belinda Lewis, KS. He is survived by his wife Julie Pearce, his children Tristan Harris-Pearce, MT, and Raina “Eevee” Bean-Pearce, KS; his siblings Wanetta Bean, KS, Madge Bean, IL, stepsister Lacey Owens (John), TX and Lewis Bean, TX. In lieu of flowers, request any donations be made to Julie Pearce, 307 NW The Drive, Topeka, KS 66606.


Celebration of Life: August 1st at 10:00am, Auburndale Park, 2400 NW Perry, Topeka, KS 66606.



Education & Work:

He attended Highland Park High School (graduating Class of '78) in Topeka, KS, Washburn University in Topeka, KS, and Kansas University in Lawrence, KS. Williard was a lifelong educator, athletic director, and coach. He worked 22+ years at USD 501 school district (Eisenhower, Ross, and Chase) in Topeka, KS; taught PE/Health/AD/Drivers Ed, 3 years in Brockton Public Schools, Brockton, MT. He also coached girls & boys basketball, football, golf, and more.


Activities:

He worked for the Boys and Girls Club, Topeka, KS for 10+ years. He helped with Washburn Summer Basketball League, the "Coach Chipman" basketball camp, "Yes I Can" basketball camp, Grey Wolves' rugby team, KU Rugby. He also supported the Boys Scouts of America as a parent volunteer for his sons' progression through the Scouts. Also, if someone needed help, he was usually there.
