<p>Passed away at the Northumberland Hills Hospital on Sunday July 24, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer. Beloved father of Kenneth James (Maddy); Grandpa to James, Lola, Kai &amp; Eden; Big Brother to Nancy Milne (David) &amp; Danny. Peter is predeceased and now at rest with his youngest son Timothy Douglas, his parents Norman James &amp; Lois Kathleen (Paul), his sister Jayne, as well as his 4 legged buddies Columbo &amp; Buffy.&nbsp;In his younger years Peter was an active member of the Caledon Ski Club, he was a member of the Ski Patrol, he enjoyed many days on the slopes and could always be spotted by his cowboy hat, after hanging up his boards the friendship&rsquo;s of his ski buddies continued.&nbsp;Peter followed in the footsteps of his grandfather by becoming a firefighter. He started his career as a Volunteer Fire Fighter with the Port Hope Fire Department in the 1960&rsquo;s. In 1974 he joined the Mississauga Fire Department. During his career with Mississauga he was promoted to captain. As well he was awarded The Medal of Honour and Bravery by the City of Mississauga for his successful life saving efforts of a baby. He retired in 2002. Peter had a passion for photography and shared his works with many of his friends and family.&nbsp;</p> <p>Special thanks to the Dr&rsquo;s and Nurses of the Palliative Unit at The Northumberland Hills Hospital for your wonderful care of Peter. We are so very lucky to have you in our community.</p> <p>Peter has requested no service and cremation has taken place.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Northumberland Humane Society.<br /> &nbsp;</p>
