Stewart Mitchell

Stewart Mitchell, age 79, of Kendallville, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Majestic Care in Fort Wayne. Mr. Mitchell was born in Big Creek, near War, West Virginia on June 9, 1943 to Byrd and Mary (Rose) Mitchell. He was employed by Newnam Foundry in Kendallville for 30 years before retiring in 1990. He married Louvena Ruth Calhoun on July 3, 1975 in South Milford and she survives him.

Wife, Louvena Mitchell of Kendallville
Daughter, Tammy Keister of Waterloo.
Son, Rick and Charise Mitchell of Fort Wayne.
Son, Steve Mitchell of Fort Wayne.
Son, Darrell and Lisa Mitchell of Fort Wayne.
11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, David; daughter-in-law, Sammy Mitchell; sisters, Madeline Handshoe, Isabelle Woody, Helen Hicks and Omie Blakely; brothers, Ovie Mitchell, Howard Mitchell, Buster Mitchell, Dan Mitchell, Roy Mitchell and Sonny Mitchell. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home with Rev. Willie Collins officiating the service. 
Visitation will be 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM before the service. 
Burial will follow at Sweet Cemetery near Albion.
