Obituary

Mr. Sheryl Lamar Lunn was born June 25, 1947 to the union of John William Lunn Jr. and Helen Jean (Sanders) Lunn in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the eldest of seven children.He attended Kansas City, Kansas public schools until the 9th grade. Afterwards , the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he completed his education at Central Senior High School and graduated in 1965. Later in life Sheryl received an Associate in Arts degree fron Penn Valley Community College in the year 2000. Sheryl was a veteran, and completed four years of service in the Unites States Army with a honorable discharge in 1971. He served during the Vietnam War era. His work experience includes being a meter reader for the city of Kansas City, Missouri and a Postal worker for the United States PostOffice. Additionaly, Sheryl worked in security services field for over 30 years. He worked for Whelan Security Sevices until the time of his passing. This employment lasted more than 25 years. Sheryl enjoyed music and was an avid Chief and Royals fan. Hw appreciated college sports as well. He professed Christ at an early age and attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church(Rosedale Ks.) in his youth. Later, as an adult he visited several churches in the city and eventually became a faithful member of the St. Stephen Baptist Church ((KCMO). Sheryl Lamarr Lunn leaves to cherish his precious memories: three brothers, John W. Lunn III(Barbara), Leslie E. Lunn of Sr. (Jacquelyn) all of Kansas City, Mo. and Daniel M. Lunn of Kansas City, Ks. two sisters, Joan J. Lunn-Warner and Toni M. Lunn both of Kansas City, Mo; two uncles, Rev. Ben C. McIntosh of Kansas City, Mo., and Homer McIntosh(Bertha) of Independence, Kansas; two aunts, Katherine Cooper of Kansas City, Mo. and Catherine Brown of Independence, Mo.: several nieces and nephews: and a host of other relatives and friends. Sheryl's kind and quiet spirit will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him. We give reverence to the dead through service to the living. Visitation services will be held Tuseday, 2-7-2017 10-11AM at: Tuesday, February 7, 2017 10:00 AM
