Constance Cochones Cummings Obituary

Constance Cochones Cummings passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday August 5 after suffering a severe stroke. Her daughter Beth was at her side. She is survived by her sister Judy Nardelli, her brother Steve Cochones, her husband Paul Cummings and their three children, Lucas Cummings, Matthew Cummings and Elizabeth Bahrenburg, her son-in-law Peter Bahrenburg and her granddaughters Sara and Charlotte as well as a large extended family Connie was born on February 17, 1947 in Hoboken, New Jersey. Her family moved to Vermont in 1963. She attended Burlington High School graduating in 1965. She graduated with a degree in education from the University of Vermont in 1969. She later earned her masters in education from Leslie College She taught several elementary school grades in Winooski and at Porter's Point School in Colchester for over 30 years. In June of 1969 she married Paul Cummings and together they raised three children... Elizabeth Bahrenburg, Matthew Cummings and Lucas Cummings all of Burlington. She doted on and loved dearly her two granddaughters Sara and Charlotte Bahrenburg. Connie was an amazing woman, teacher, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved her 100's of students very much and was dedicated to leaving a lasting love of learning with each and every child. She had a close group of teacher friends who she adored. They spent years playing tennis, golf and sharing meals and laughter together. She loved her children with everything she had making sure they felt her deep love for them. She adored her granddaughters and spent hours playing games, reading, walking on the beach and making beautiful art together. A special thank you to Amy and the wonderful staff at the UVM Medical Center. Especially the ICU staff whose caring and compassion will never be forgotten.
