Durwood Keith Champion, 66, of Louisburg passed away July 11, 2022 UNC Chapel Hill. Born on April 7, 1956 to Marie Murray Poole and the late Walter Edward Champion, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lonnie Haywood Champion, Jeffery Champion and Michael Earl Champion. Keith enjoyed fishing and worked most of his life logging until he moved to Mississippi.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Murray Pernell family cemetery, 279 Schloss Road, Louisburg. Flowers and visitors will be accepted at the home of Marie Poole, 2519 Seven Paths Road, Louisburg, NC 27549.

He is survived by his daughter, Crystal Shugart (Deane) of Melbourne, FL, son, Nicholas Champion (Ashley) of Palm Bay, FL, brother, Walter Edward Champion, Jr. of Pittsboro, sisters, Ivy Ayscue (James Carrol) of Louisburg, Kim Ayscue (Steve) of Castalia, Robin Martin (Bobby) of Louisburg, Carolyn Tharrington (Sherwood) of Louisburg and Jerri Champion of Louisburg, grandchildren, Rusty, Kaylee, Derris, Aubrey, Melanie, Zoey, Nicholas, Hannah, Christian and Aaron, great grandchild, Bryson and many nieces and nephews.
