Her Legacy… Mary Harriet Maltby, 82, passed away July 25, 2022.  She was born on September 16, 1939, in Northville, Michigan to John Clinton Palmer and Marian (Deagen) Palmer. Mary married the love of her life, Michael Wilson, on July 7, 1994, in Pinckney, Michigan. Mary dedicated her life to raising, breeding, and showing Newfoundland dogs. She opened Castaway Kennels with her first husband, Allen Maltby, in 1966. Mary was incredibly passionate about her work and the health of the dogs was of high importance to her. She was a charter & life member of the Great Lakes Newfoundland Club and a member of the Newfoundland Club of America. Mary was very smart and determined. She would help anyone that needed it and had a very kind, loving heart. Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her Family… Mary will be missed by her husband, Mike Wilson; her children, John (Karen) Maltby, Colleen (Virgilio) Maltby, K.C. (Trasa) Maltby; grandchildren, Kevin and Samantha; best friend, Ann Zulucki; and beloved dog, Heidi. She is preceded in death by her parents, John & Marian Palmer; and brothers, Paul Palmer, Walter Palmer and Russell Palmer.
