MUNCIE- Larry Lee Faughnder, 76, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 26, 2022 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness. Larry was born May 31, 1946 in Muncie and was the son of the late Nelson Lee Faughnder and Leta Ruth (Meeks) Faughnder. Larry was a graduate of Muncie Southside High School Class of 1964. He had attended Ball State University. Larry retired from Indiana Gas Company after 30 years and from General Motors in Marion after 12 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, finding reasons to stop at every Crackle Barrel he saw while traveling, woodworking, playing jokes on people, and reading. Larry was a member of Parker City United Methodist Church where he had served as a trustee. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Linda Joy Faughnder (Ludington); two children Kevin Faughnder and Staci Shamash (Sande); seven grandson’s Tyler Faughnder, Tanner Faughnder, Trevor Faughnder, Gavin McMahan, Collin McMahan, Noah Shamash and Ari Shamash; many other special loving family members and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Nelson Lee Faughnder and Leta Ruth (Meeks) Faughnder. A memorial service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastor Chris Nelson officiating. Family and friends may call from 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the mortuary until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. A private burial will take place in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
