Gregory W. Gattie

RACINE- Gregory W. Gattie, 75, passed away at Ascension Healthcare- Spring Street Campus on Monday, July11, 2022.

Greg was born in Racine on March 22, 1947, to Donald R. and Mary E. (nee: Howe) Gattie. He married the love of his life Sharon. She preceded him in death in 2001. Greg was a loving caregiver to his wife until her passing. Prior to Sharon’s illness he worked at Walker Forge. Following her death, he began working as a roofer. When he was younger, he liked to look for antique bottles around the area. He was a talented woodworker creating miniatures and restoring antique furniture. Greg was also a Green Bay Packers fan.

He will be missed by his children, Michael, Shawn (Lisa), Patrick and Angela Gattie, grandchildren, Stephanie, Nicholas, Stone, Harmony, Steel and Destiny, great grandchildren, and sister and brother-in-law Barbara (Thomas) Tommerup. He was preceded in death by his daughter Dawn Gattie and grandson Shawn Gattie.

A visitation will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, 9000 Washington Avenue on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 11:00 am until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
