Ina Courtney Teal, 94, of Monroe passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 in Atrium Health Union.  Her funeral service will be at 11 AM on Friday in the Davis Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Chris Justice officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Service from 10 until 11 AM prior to the hour of the service. 

Born December 4, 1927 in Union County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Geroge James Courtney Sr. and Nettie Ardenia Aycock Courtney.  She was a retired textile supervisor and later a Salesperson at Downtown Discount.  She was a member of Lee Park Church in Monroe. 

Mrs. Teal was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Jefferson Teal in 1997.  Survivors include four grandchildren Terri Williams McGiboney, Michael Williams (Sunni), Maria Beneden Contreras, Shannon Starnes and great-grandchildren Savannah Moore, Sebastian Moore, Madeline Moore, Ashlyn Williams, Rowan Williams, Eric Gonzalez, Marielena Jaimes, Aurelio Jaimes and one great-great grandchild, sons-in-law Jerry Love, Dennis Starnes, and Randy Williams.  She was preceded in death by two daughters Linda Teal Love and Joyce Teal Starnes as well as six sisters Louise White, Christine Strawn, Ruth Thomas, Betty Yarborough, Juanita Strawn, and Mable Cox as well as three brothers Charlie Courtney, Joe Courtney, and George Courtney Jr.
