Mr. Kendrick Shane Locklear “Pookie” of Maxton was born in Robeson County on September 18, 1995 to Michael and Felicia Locklear and entered into his eternal life on July 24, 2022 completing his journey of 26 years.

Mr. Locklear is preceded in death by his grandfather: Thurman “Dank” Locklear; his grandmother: Sara “Lena” Hunt; three aunts: Patricia Locklear, Helen Hunt, and Doris Oxendine; one uncle: Franklin Hunt; and three cousins: Cassandra Hunt, Tina Oxendine, and Jessica Chavis.

Mr. Locklear leaves to cherish his memories, his parents: Michael and Felecia Locklear of the home; his daughter: Oaklyn Barton of Maxton; his brother: Michael Jr. of Rowland; his girlfriend: Cheyanne Barton of Maxton; his grandmother: Karby Locklear of Rowland; his aunts and uncles: Cindy and Wayne Chavis, Martha and David Barton, Joyce and David Tyner, Stephanie and Robert Locklear, Teresa Hunt, Rev. Johnny and Shannon Locklear, Jeffery Hunt, all of Maxton, Robbie Locklear, Priscilla Hunt, and Ricky Hunt all of Rowland; two cousins that were raised like sisters: Makayla Harris of Laurinburg and Katelin Locklear of Maxton; special cousins: Ander Locklear, Kenny Lee Jacobs, and Stevie Locklear, all of Maxton; two special friends: Julius Oxendine, Todd Locklear, and Cody Mishue as well as a host of relatives and friends.
