Tameshea Tanya' Townsel Obituary

Tameshea Tanyá Townsel, 45, was born on June 9, 1971 to Robert Tolliver and Helen Green. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Eddie and Ora Green, who preceded her in death. She received her education through the Kansas City Missouri School District. Being baptized at an early age, Tameshea enjoyed worshipping at Victorious Life Church when her health permitted. Tameshea married Gerald Wilkes in 1992. To this union, two sons were born, Jerrell and Anthony. This union later ended in divorce. She married James Townsel, Sr. in 1994. This union brought two daughters, Monique and J-Les, and two children were born, James Jr. and Tayler. There were many things Tameshea enjoyed: her favorite activity was studying the word of God by engaging in prayer and Bible studies with family. She also enjoyed utilizing her artistic talents of freehand drawing and painting. Aside from spending time with her family, Tameshea enjoyed spending time with her pets, Chihuahuas, Sandy, and Bossley. Tameshea was a bus driver for the Blue Springs school district until her health no longer allowed her to work. Students and parents loved her and would attest to numerous times they could hear her and her students engaging in sing-a-longs during their routes. In 2008, Tameshea’s health began to decline. Throughout it all she never complained, but instead held tightly to God’s unchanging hands. Tameshea was assured that God could do anything but fail. During her nearly 9-year journey Tameshea would undergo various medical tests and procedures with the faith that God would continue to keep her, and knew that her Creator had the final say and was the ultimate authority regarding all things - including her health. On Saturday, January 14, 2017, God indeed had the final say. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband James Townsel Sr., of the home, three daughters: Monique Combs-Townsel, J-Les Townsel, and Tayler Townsel, three sons: Jerrell Wilkes, Anthony Wilkes, James Townsel Jr., five grandchildren, Aaliyah, Jayla, Layla, Therman, and Damond Jr., parents: Robert Tolliver and Helen Green, four brothers: Roderick Tolliver (Shavon), Brandon Tolliver (Aiesha), Stephen Tolliver, and Shamon Green, five sisters: LaVisa Ervin, Veronica Tolliver, Tawannna Tolliver, Chasity Campbell, and Morgan Tolliver and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and other relatives. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 28, 11:00 a.m. at Victorious Life Church. Interment Blue Ridge Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
