ROY, Richard Emile February 18, 1950 - July 23, 2022 With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father, Richard at the age of 72 years at his home in Stoney Point. Richard was proud owner of Roy Electric. He was an active member in many service clubs including the Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Rotary Club, Legion, Stoney Point Sportsmen’s Club and the OEL. Richard will be missed by his family, many nieces, nephews and friends. He had a great sense of humour and was an avid bird and squirrel watcher. He loved fishing, golfing, playing cards and above all, spending time with family and his grandchild. Survived by his children Carmen, Carmel (Ian), Jennie, Rich and their mother Louise Roy (Desrochers). Proud grandfather to Luca. Dear brother to Margaret Pawlowski, Ernest (Joan), Michael (Bonnie), Bill (Diane), Alfred (Lorraine), Barbara (Michael McGuire), Rene (Pauline), Marcel (Mariella), Mary Ann (Marc Pinsonneault ) and brother in-law Ron Rivard. Predeceased by his mother Agnes (2011), father Hiram (1970), brothers Francis (1957), Fr. Paul (1994), Louis (2008), sister Bernice Rivard (2022) and brother in-law Jerry Pawlowski(2020). Our family is forever grateful for the wonderful care and service our dad received over the last few years from the EMS team, nurses and personal support workers. A special thank you to Dad’s friends and neighbours Bernard and Carmel Lebert, whose unconditional love and support made his final years at home possible. Thank you to special friends Mary Nessel, Luc and wife Pauline Le Clair for their loving support. It meant the world to him and our family. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. As per Dad’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at a future date.
