Freida I. Wilson

Freida I. Wilson (nee Cooper), age 94, passed away on July 23, 2022 at The Glen Senior Care Center. She was born in Cincinnati to the late Alma and Emmett H. Cooper. Freida was the loving wife of the late John W. Wilson, beloved mother of Kathy Durham (Larry), Carol Yockey (Ken), Steve Wilson (Karen), Jeffrey Wilson (Brinn), Andrew Wilson (Connie), and Joan Steely (Michael), cherished grandmother of Scott Keating (Jackie), Bradley Keating (Carrie), Melissa Schlueter (Terry), Steven Yockey (Nichole), Allison Camp (Josh), Philip Yockey (Mandy), Timothy Wilson, Stephanie Scott (Daniel), Ashton Wilson, John Wilson, Samuel Wilson, Lydia Smoot, Hannah Smoot, and Abigail Smoot, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great, great-grandchild due in September, dear sister of Lowell H. Cooper. Along with her devotion to her husband and children, Freida actively served her local church for over 65 years, playing the piano and organ for services and playing for many weddings throughout the community. Freida was a Sunday School teacher, church secretary, and, along with her husband, John, founded the library in the Forestville Baptist Church, reading every book before it was placed on the shelf. Above all else, Freida wanted her family to live for God and trust Him as their Lord and Savior. She viewed this as the most important decision in one's life. Her life of prayer, love, sacrifice, and service modeled her belief. Family and friends are invited to a visitation for Freida on Tuesday, August 2 from 6-8 PM at Forestville Baptist Church, 1311 Nagel Rd., Cincinnati 45255. A private funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 3 at the church, to be followed by interment at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
