Angier– Colon Randolph “Randy” Collins, 91, passed away on Saturday at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington. Randy was the son of the late Colon F. Collins and Pearl Wood Collins. While working with a buyer in the tobacco market in Pennington Gap, VA, he met the love of his life, Allene Baker. They married in 1955. Their son, Michael was born in 1957. Randy had become fast friends with his new brothers-in-law who convinced them to move to Dayton, OH and join them in the industrial fasteners sales business with Premier Industrial Corporation. Randy always loved cars and moved back to Angier in 1963 and joined Thompson Cadillac-Olds in Raleigh. He remained in auto sales the rest of his working years. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Angier from 1956 to present. Randy shared his love of golf with his many friends. He taught that love of golf to his son, Michael. They played in tournaments together from the time Michael was 13 years old until Randy was 85 years old which spanned 45 years. He arranged many golf trips with friends, and especially the annual hunting and golfing adventures to Warm Springs, VA. He would take friends from the Angier area to meet with his brothers-in-law and their friends from Ohio for an annual week of sport and fun. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 28th at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. The family will receive friends as they depart after the service.
