<p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Helen passed away peacefully on July 23, 2022 at Portage Hospital.</strong></p> <p><strong>She was born April 7, 1936 in New Glasgow, NS to Rev. John Wilkes &amp; Edith MacDonald. Helen grew up in Kingston, Ontario where she graduated from Kingston General Hospital as a Registered Nurse (1957). She moved to Winnipeg and married George Friesen. They moved to a small farm in Plumas having many happy memories with their two daughters Heather and Gwen. Helen loved spending time with her family and friends, playing the piano, committee work with the GASP board, Cheerie Dearies, the Nurses&rsquo; Club and her church.</strong></p> <p><strong>Helen is predeceased by George Friesen (husband), Bruce MacDonald (brother) and her parents.</strong></p> <p><strong>Helen is survived by daughters Heather Friesen, Gwen Weeks (Dennis), granddaughter Jenna Weeks, many nieces, nephews and friends.</strong></p> <p><strong>A Celebration Of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Clarke&rsquo;s Funeral Chapel in Gladstone, MB with Wendy Denbow officiating.</strong></p> <p><strong>A private family interment will take place at a later date.</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Cancer Care Manitoba.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
