Bradley B. Saxton Died July 23, 2022 SUTTONS BAY – Bradley Bruce Saxton, 73, of Suttons Bay, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Munson Medical Center. Brad was born on December 25, 1948, in Midland, the son of Gayle and Rea (Smith) Saxton. On June 28, 1980, in Kalkaska, he married Florence Skowronski, who survives. Brad served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. He also was a machinist, firefighter, and EMT. He played Santa for many years. For 11 years Brad put in most of the 911 address signs as a K of C project. He was especially proud of his son, Tim, who is a pilot in the Air Force. In addition to his wife of 42 years, Brad is survived by his son, Tim (Ausra) Saxton; grandson, Zachary Saxton; and Buddy, his cat; a brother, Steve; sister-in-law, Joyce; his mother-in-law, Barb Skowronski; many brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. with the Rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m. on July 28, 2022, at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Suttons Bay. Fr. Leonard Paul will serve as celebrant. In the Spring of 2023 burial will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery after his son's deployment. Memorials may be directed to St. Michael’s Church, PO Box 9, Suttons Bay, MI 49682 and/or Suttons Bay-Bingham Fire & Rescues, PO Box 280, Suttons Bay, MI 49682.
