Carole M. Romano, 84, of Flanders, NJ passed away peacefully on July 23, 2022 with her family by her side. Carole was born on September 15, 1937 in White Plains, NY to the late Fredrick and Margaret Romano. She lived most of her life in Bergen County, NJ before moving to Flanders 15 years ago. Carole was always aiding others. She served many years volunteering her time as a caregiver and most recently helping at the Hermits of Carmel in Chester, NJ. Family, faith, and living life to the fullest each day were the pillars of her life. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Carole also had a strong love for animals, especially for her dog Coco, and her Cat Coco. She enjoyed singing, dancing, Betty Boop, and the occasional Black Russian.

She is survived by her five devoted children, Brenda L. Brooks and husband Dennis, Richard DeTorres and wife Laurie, Kenneth DeTorres, Christopher DeTorres and wife Lisa, and Suzanne Arnone and husband Michael; eight loving grandchildren, Christopher, Dennis, Thomas, Kyle, Nikki, Samantha, Danielle, and Michael; four cherish great-grandchildren, Dennis, Charlotte, Everleigh, and Benjamin; three siblings, Michael, Mary Ann, and Frances; and by many other loving family members and friends. She was predeceased by her sisters, Eileen and Dolores.

Carole’s Life Celebration will include a visitation on Wednesday July 27, 2022 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Rd. (corner of Rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 10:00am at the Holy Trinity Chapel at the Hermits of Carmel in Chester. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.
