Robert Eugene Lacey, 63, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born August 4, 1958, in Seymour, he was the son of the late Leroy and Thelma Louise (Redicker) Lacey.

Robert was a 1977 graduate of Jennings County High School. He retired as a foreman in 2019 from Harmon Construction with 33 years of service. Robert enjoyed cruising in his Jeep, fishing, talking with friends and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Cody Lacey of North Vernon; his daughters, Bobbi (Kiefer) Howard of Seymour and Tasha Lanning of North Vernon; brother, Danny (Peggy) Lacey of Butlerville; sisters, Barbara (David) Neal and Beverly (William) Waltermire, both of Commiskey; and grandchildren, Helena Howard and Veronica Howard, both of Seymour; Chloe Winterton, Bronsyn Lanning, Dawsyn Lanning, and Oliver Lacey, all of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service for Robert will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with David Neal officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
