<p>With deep sadness we announce the passing of Frances, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.</p> <p>Left to cherish Frances&rsquo; memory are her sons&nbsp; Lorne (Suzy), Howard (Darlene) and Stuart, 5 grandchildren&nbsp; Rochelle (Dean), Michael (Codelle), Stacey, Riley and Jarett, 4 great grandchildren&nbsp; Taylor, Magnus, Haddlea, and Alex, as well as her brothers, Garth and Lawrence.</p> <p>She is predeceased by her husband Steve of 71 years, sisters; Loretta and Leona, brother; Neil, and parents Sylvester and Elsie.</p> <p>Frances was born June 14, 1932, in Makaroff, MB where she grew up as the oldest girl of 6 siblings and in 1949 completed courses to become a teacher.</p> <p>On August 08, 1950 she married Steve and they lived on a small farm in the Makaroff area where she worked as a substitute teacher for 6 years.</p> <p>In 1956 they relocated to The Pas, MB where they raised their three boys. There she worked as a nursing assistant until 1966 when she went back to school and received her adult instruction course and counselling certificate. She went on to work for 4 years at Keewatin Community College. In 1970 the family moved to Benito, MB where they ran a family business until 1974 when they moved to Swan River, MB. There she worked as the Director of ACL, also assisting as a program director for Swan Valley Crisis Centre, and as a teaching assistant for Swan Valley School Division. After her &ldquo;retirement&rdquo; at the age of 73, she went on to work as a Provincial Magistrate and Marriage Commissioner.</p> <p>Her main goal in life was to help children and youth through their many challenges.</p> <p>The family would like to thank the staff at Swan Valley Personal Care Home for their compassion and care.</p> <p>Memorial Donations may be made to the Swan Valley Crisis Centre Box 2354 Swan River, MB or the Community Foundation of Swan Valley Box 1509 Swan River, MB R0L 1Z0.</p> <p>In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a family memorial will take place at a later date.</p>
