Wandalea Francis Luthi Obituary

Wanda Luthi, 93 year old Fargo resident, died Thursday, December 10, 2015 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2015 in the Fargo Church of the Nazarene with the Reverend Jerry Harrison officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Wandalea Francis (Hughes) Luthi was born on March 14, 1922 in Wakita, Oklahoma to Edward Roscoe and Francis Emma (Greenup) Hughes. Wanda grew up in Sharon and graduated from Sharon High School. She attended Oklahoma A&M and received her degree in Home Economics and Nutrition.

She was united in marriage to Virgil "Glen" Luthi on August 18, 1946 in Woodward, Oklahoma. They made their home in Woodward before moving to Fargo in 1968. They have made their home south of Fargo since that time. Wanda taught Home Economics at Woodward for one year and then spent her life maintaining her home and raising her three boys in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. The only thing she loved more than her family was the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She professed her faith in Him at an early age and spent the rest of her life serving Him faithfully. She was a Prayer Warrior and a Bible student. Wanda loved her church. She was there every time the door was open and took an active role in many different ministries, from playing the piano and organ, to teaching Sunday School. She was no respecter of persons, treating everybody the same. She would share with, minister to, and love anyone unconditionally that she ever encountered. But her crowning achievement in this life will probably be her oldest son Joe, who preceded her in death. She loved him and cared for him and gave her life for him for every one of his 64 years and now they will be united once again. What a day, Glorious day, that will be.

Wanda was a long time member of the Nazarene Church of Fargo. She was a painter and an artist and loved to play the piano. Wanda was active in Gideon"s International, the Sunshine Club of Fargo, and the Gamma Club of Woodward.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Glen Luthi; two sons, Ted Luthi and wife Elda, Chuck Luthi and wife Wathina; five grandchildren, Bert Luthi and wife Sally, Alex Luthi and wife Heather, Eric Luthi, Jayme Luthi, Caleb Luthi; five great-grandchildren, Emily Nelson, Heidi Luthi, Molly Luthi, Chase Luthi, Ivan Luthi; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son Joe Luthi.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Fargo Church of the Nazarene with the funeral home accepting the contributions on behalf of the family. 12/13/2015 02:00 PM Funeral Fargo Church of the Nazarene
