James Steven (Steve) Lackey passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on June 28th, 2022, in Marble Falls, Texas. He was born in Odessa on August 20th, 1958 and was raised and educated in West Texas. Steve graduated from Littlefield High School in 1976, and later attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture Economics in 1980. A lifelong banker, Steve worked as a Bank Examiner and later as a loan officer with banks in Dallas, Lubbock and Marble Falls, Texas. He earned his Eagle Scout designation that provided him with a moral compass and high level of integrity that allowed him to be a strong foundation for his family and friends throughout his life. He was a lifelong Methodist and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marble Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia Lackey, James Lackey, and Lois Lackey. Survivors include his wife, Sara Lackey of Marble Falls; two children, Kate Light and her husband Josh of Houston, and Blake Lackey and his wife Avery of Portland, Oregon; sister-in-law, Jan White of Plano, Texas; and one grandchild, Carter Ann Light. He was a very charismatic, charming individual who knew no strangers. He was greatly loved by all and will be remembered as a loving husband and father. Memorial services for Steve will be held on July 16th at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Marble Falls Texas with Senior Pastor, Ellen Ely, officiating.
