Mary L. Payson, 74, of Gorham, passed away on Tuesday July 19, 2022 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. She was born in Gorham on April 3, 1948 the daughter of Edward and Jennie (Robak) LaChance and was raised there. Mary moved to the Manchester, NH after college and raised her family there. She had been employed as a claims adjustor for Amica Insurance Company for 24 years. After retirement, she moved back to Gorham to be closer to her mother and siblings. Mary was a member of the Red Hat Society and loved doing crafts and going to the casino. Family includes her children Joe Payson of Pittsfield, NH and Angela Loso and her husband Jeremy of Allenstown, NH; grandchildren Erika Guillemette, Brandon Payson and Justin Loso; 2 great grandchildren; siblings Gloria Byrne of Gorham, NH and Patty Martel of Minot, ME; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Richard LaChance. Funeral Services will be held on Monday July 25, 2022 at 1 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham. Interment will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 11 AM to 1 PM, prior to the service.
