Marcus Neil Davis Obituary

Marcus Neil Davis (Marc), 62, of Roanoke, went to his heavenly home on July 19, 2022. Marc was born in Bluefield, WV, to Don and Susan Davis.

Marc was a graduate of Salem High School and Emory & Henry College, where he was a member of the football team. Marc was a very well respected Real Estate Appraiser, having owned and operated his own company for more than 25 years. He was blessed to have worked with his son, Ryan, for the last 10 years.

An avid sportsman, he grew up hunting, fishing and shooting, activities which he passed on to his sons and which provided countless cherished memories. He was a competitive handgun shooter, winning many competitions over the years. More recently, Marc loved taking his Boston Whaler fishing on ‘The Chick’ with his son Matt, and his new favorite sport, skeet shooting, which he enjoyed with his son, Ryan.

What Marc loved the most was spending time with his family, especially his precious grandchildren, Jack Jack Boy, and Mary Spence. Marc was a man of strong faith and a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church.
Marc is preceded in death by his father, Don Davis, his brother, Kevin Davis, his father-in-law, John Bolick, his step father-in-law, Eric Carlen, and his brother-in-law, Mike Worrell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Julie, his sons & spouses, Matt (Luisa) and Ryan (Laura), and his grandchildren Jack and Mary Spence.

Marc is also survived by his mother, Susan Tabor, step-father, Forrest Tabor, brother Steve (Tina) Davis, mother-in-law, Shirley Carlen, sister-in-law, Karen Worrell and step sister, Erin (Rob) Fariss.

He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Emilie, Cory, Reagan and Hailey Loveland, Dale Worrell, Victoria Worrell, Amanda and John Ploschke, Jacob Fariss and Emma Fariss. He is also survived by many relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Cave Spring Baptist Church’s Building Fund, or Roanoke Valley Chapter of Izaak Walton, P.O. Box 20708, Roanoke, VA 24018.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, 7/21/2022, 6-8PM, at Oakey’s South. Funeral Service is Friday, 7/22/2022, 2PM, at Cave Spring Baptist Church with Dr. Pete Schemm officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
