Sonia Mae Langille

Chapman - Sonia Mae Langille, 62, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022, at her sister’s residence in Presque Isle. She was born November 30, 1959, in Presque Isle, the daughter of James G. and Leona E. (York) Smith Jr. Sonia’s family was her pride and joy, and she was always making sure that everyone was taken care of. She enjoyed snowmobiling and going on the ATV’S when her family was young. Later on, she enjoyed her horses, caring for them and riding them. Crocheting was a favorite past time along with quilting and sewing. Sonia also enjoyed going on tractor treks with her husband Chris. Sonia was particularly proud of her job as a teacher for children with special needs. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, who will be missed by all. She is survived by her husband Chris Langille of Chapman, daughter Kelly Langille of Raliegh, NC, son Chris Langille Jr. of Presque Isle, granddaughter Aaliyah Lichterman of Presque Isle, a sister Susan Smith of Presque Isle, a great niece Libbi Smith of Mars Hill, and her brother James D. Smith of Post Falls, ID. Sonia also leaves behind a brother-in-law Arthur Langille Jr. of North Carolina, sister-in-law Sherry Langille Gammon of Maine and Florida, sister-in-law Trudy Maxwell of Raliegh, NC, sister-in-law Lynn Tracy of Glenburn, and many nieces and nephews. She will also be remembered by very special friends; Trudy Steenwyck of Chapman, Teresa Ellis of Presque Isle, Rhonda Embelton of Scopan, and Pastor Vinal Wilcox and his wife Gerry of Caribou. In addition to her parents, Sonia was predeceased by a grandson Case Langille. Friends may call 12pm Friday, July 22, 2022, at the Church of Jesus on Chapman St., where a service will be held at 1pm with the Rev. Vinal Wilcox officiating. Interment will be announced at a later date. Those who wish to remember Sonia in a special way may make gifts in her memory payable to a charity of one’s choice.
